"I have always enjoyed movies that relate biblical narratives. Unfortunately, there aren't many that delve into Paul the apostle's life, and certainly not Luke's, so it was a pleasant surprise to see the intertwined lives of these two men portrayed biblically and faithfully on-screen.
I didn't know what to expect, but I walked away with a full heart and satisfied mind. I loved how close the movie was to the written account of Scripture and how the humanity of these two men was displayed. On several occasions, I found myself working to hold back tears. The whole team is to be commended—a home run!

"PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST is one of the best movies
I’ve seen in a long time.
I appreciate the movie’s faithfulness to
the Scriptures and its challenge to live a life of no regrets. As
someone who is passionate about preserving the context of the
New Testament, I was impressed with the fine attention to detail
in telling the biblical account. I will be recommending this movie
to everyone I know."Robby Gallaty, Senior Pastor, Long Hollow Baptist Church
"PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST is not just a film, it is a gift…offering
modern Christians a real and rare glimpse into the life of the early
Church and calling us all to live more boldly for Jesus Christ.
Few films do justice to sacred Scripture or the characters within it…
PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST is a noticeable and joyful exception.
PAUL combines incredible performances, exquisite writing, and a
powerful story, offering every viewer the opportunity to encounter
Christ’s message of love and mercy in a bold way.
PAUL is inspiring and convicting; this film will strengthen families
and parishes, challenging all to live as even stronger witnesses for
Christ and His gospel."
Mark Hart, Executive VP, Life Teen Inc.
"PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST is an extraordinary film that poignantly
portrays the life and leadership of Saint Paul when the early Christians
faced great sufferings. Through beautiful cinematography and a dialogue
faithful to the Scriptures, Paul’s heroic faith, personal dignity, and tenacious
witness is powerfully portrayed. It is a film that will touch and encourage anyone
who sees it with an open mind and heart."
Frank J. Caggiano, The Most Reverend Bishop of Bridgeport
"As pastors, we are always looking for Scripture to come alive for our
listeners. For the power of God's word to jump off the page and
become an agent for change in their lives. PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST
does that and more. It draws you into his life and you truly experience
the depths of his undeniable love, passion and commitment to Jesus
and His church. I was deeply moved and, as a pastor, challenged in
ways I did not imagine possible. It will be a must see for our church and
will be a catalyst for life-change as they experience this changed man
who changed the world."
Matthew Cork, Lead Pastor, Friends Church
"PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST is a riveting, provocative and deeply
inspiring, timely film. This film is unlike any other religious movie I
have seen and it does great justice to the looming figure of Paul the
Apostle and his Gospel of grace. Blinded by the light of God’s forgiving
love, Paul sees the truth for the first time. He continues to preach the
Gospel of Jesus Christ while awaiting execution in Rome. The film’s
message speaks loudly to our times: no one is beyond God’s mercy
and forgiveness. There is a great price to being Christian, then and
now. Many suffered for believing in the name of Jesus, and many
continue to suffer persecution today for their discipleship of Jesus Christ.
St. Paul has bequeathed to us essential reference points for every
disciple of Jesus: "He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for
power is made perfect in weakness'"; and "God chose the lowly and
despised of the world, those who count for nothing, to reduce to
nothing those who are something." This brazen apostle to the nations
identifies himself to such a degree with Christ that he also, even in
the midst of so many trials, and in the darkness of captivity, lives in
the faith of the Son of God who loved him and gave himself up for
his sins and those of everyone.
I am left with lingering questions after seeing this film: Am I as
determined and as energetic about spreading the Catholic faith
as St. Paul was? Is spreading the faith both by example and by
my conversations with friends even a concern? Am I willing to lay
down my life for Jesus Christ? I recommend this film highly to every
Christian man and woman who wishes to experience the cost of
discipleship and the reason for our hope."
Fr. Thomas Rosica, CEO, Salt and Light Catholic Media Foundation
"Very often I support Christian movies for the content. However,
I am prepared to see a movie low in quality either in the setting,
content, or acting. PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST is not the case,
on the contrary this movie positively surprised me by the way they
have raise the quality of Christian films.
While watching the movie I was struck by the relevance of this film.
We are in a world where the message of Christ can only be real for
those who have experienced an encounter with Him. These brave
disciples shared those moments of grace with the world at a very
high cost. Their reality is not that different from the reality that we
are facing today.
In this movie, I could see in the relationship between Luke and Paul
the determination to pass this legacy to those that were getting lost
in a world of unfairness and despair.
The power of the story can make you move out of your chair as a
Christian to see if your faith would compare to their bravery, would
understand the transcendence of the story to the generations to come.
This movie has invited me during this season of Lent to go back and
study with new lenses the Acts of the Apostles."Katherine Angulo, Associate Director of Youth Ministry, Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta
"PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST is an excellent and impactful film.
In a day when films that try to tell a biblical story often get things wrong,
Paul gets everything right. It is a movie that is faithful to Scripture,
tells a great story with wonderful performances, and powerfully
delivers Paul's story of conversion and his missionary message
of Christ's love. It opened my ears and my heart to hear the words
of Paul in a fresh way that gave them powerful, personal meaning."
Bill Craig, Lifeway Resources
"PAUL, APOSTLE of CHRIST reminds us the greatest thorn in life is not
what we see or cannot see with our open eyes in the day, but rather what we
see when our eyes are closed at night - the painful regrets that
prevent our resurrection from our past. In PAUL, APOSTLE of CHRIST,
God’s grace transformed Paul’s pain into a pen that powerfully sets us
free from the prison of our past. The last scene is an unflinching reminder
to stop punishing our past or fearing our future because God’s grace is always
sufficient in the present. Now I know why God trusted Paul with His power
- the only thing left for Paul to be proud of was God’s grace. God’s Grace will be with
while you watch this deeply moving film."
Kevin DeVries, Founder and President, Grace Explorations
"Recently, I had the amazing opportunity to see an advance screening of
the movie PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST. Watching the movie, I felt like
I was walking through the pages of my Bible, living with the characters,
and hearing them speak the scriptures to my heart. I absolutely loved it
and can't wait to take my family."
Jim McBride, Executive Pastor, Sherwood Baptist Church
"The Bible comes alive in Sony Pictures Paul, Apostle of Christ.
After preaching all of Paul’s letters and seeking to live by them for
more than two decades, I have a much more vivid grasp of my favorite
apostle’s life and ministry because of this film. You will never read
the Bible the same after seeing it!"
Adam B. Dooley, Ph.D., Senior Pastor, Sunnyvale First Baptist Church
"I was deeply moved by this film. The characterization of Paul played by James Faulkner is outstanding. The faithfulness to the Scriptures is powerful both in the spoken word and the actions of the characters. The depiction about how the Book of Acts could have been written is believable. For me, the most moving part of the film is the relationship between Paul and Luke, the physician. Great acting made their relationship so real and touching. By the end of the film, I was moved by their final moments."
Richard Glickstein, former president of the National Bible Association
"Paul’s ministry changed the course of history. The movie PAUL,
APOSTLE OF CHRIST deepened my appreciation for the magnitude
of what Paul accomplished in the face of great suffering. Thank God for Paul!"
Darrin Gray, All Pro Dad
"PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST…Best biblical film to hit theaters in years! Love the humanity and gospel message of redemption."
